Bertrand graduated from the University of Paris V in Pharmacy. He started his career in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries in France. After several years working in a hospital in Florida, he joined the pharmacy to bring his knowledge in pharmaceuticals, compounding and processes. He is a member of the Pharmacy Boards of Quebec, France, and Florida.
The pharmacy initially opened in 1997 under the name of Donald H. Pearson and Mel Alter Pharmacy. It was founded a patient‑focused dispensary in the Medical Arts building downtown, emphasizing compounding, health consultations, and integrative wellness services.
From its inception, the pharmacy focused on compounded medications, mixing individual ingredients to match exact dosages, forms, flavors, or allergen exclusions as prescribed by physicians.
In 2012, Bertrand Cohen‑Tenoudji, a Pharm.D., MBA graduate from University of Paris V with experience in the pharmaceutical industry and hospital practice in Florida, joined the team. His arrival marked a turning point toward expanding lab capabilities and specialized services. He led the creation of a new 700‑sq ft laboratory and developed practices in dermatological compounding and pain management therapies.
Over the years, the pharmacy has evolved into a small but experienced, high‑expertise practice that goes beyond routine prescription‑filling to deliver custom health solutions, such as pediatric-friendly flavored compounds, hormone support, topical pain creams, allergy‑free formulations, anti‑wrinkle creams for sensitive skin, nutritional advice, and women’s health services.
By the mid‑2010s and beyond, their reputation was built on personalized care, fast dispensing, wellness consultations, and truly tailored compounding services in Westmount on Sherbrooke Street.
Today, located at 5025 Sherbrooke St. West, Suite 102, Westmount, Montreal, QC H4A 1S9, the pharmacy operates under the Uniprix banner (Uniprix Clinique Bertrand Cohen‑Tenoudji), offering vaccinations, medication customization, testing/monitoring, and wellness consultations among other services.
